Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home; to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:3-5, NIV
Apples of Gold is an eight-week mentoring program taken from Titus 2:3-5, where the older woman in the Faith are commanded to teach the younger women in the faith.
Lessons include; Kindness, Loving your Husband, Loving your children, Submission, Purity, Hospitality and two added studies in the area of Prayer and Finances.
Apples of Gold meet once a week for eight consecutive weeks in one of the ladies home. Each week our classes are divided into three parts. The first is a practical demonstration on subjects such as cooking; setting a table to creating a gift basket for someone who may be shut in. The second part is a sweet time of fellowship and a sit down dinner that has been lovingly prepared for the ladies. The third part is a time of worshipping the Lord and a Bible study lesson from Apples Of Gold by Author Betty Huizenga and are based on Titus 2:3-5.
Each week a different mentor leads the study so all will have an opportunity to learn from several loving mentors.
At the heart of Apples Of Gold is the desire to nurture, teach and build up the younger women in the faith and what a wonderful experience it is.
At the end of the eight weeks there is a Celebration Dinner in which the mentors proudly present their mentee’s with a certificate of completion.
